Contest – Java4k

java4k

Java4k is a contest where the size matters. In a JAR file of a maximum size of 4K, there is to implemet a complete and playable game. Challenging, but so fun.

Check out my submissions in one link: my Java4K

4k – Balance

LINK

My first 3D – 4k creation. Based on a simple 3D engine, I created this puzzle game whose objective is to take the ball to the goal by controlling inclination of the platform.

To hightlight:

  • 3D.
  • Mouse control.

4k – Billard

LINK

That is, one billard game. I experimented with the simple physics on collisions of spheres, interesting.

To hightlight:

  • Physics2D in-house.
  • Elastic collisions.

OH MUMMY!!

LINK

Other classic from my Amstrad CPC. I loved my own version because I did it infinite, so it is a kind of challenge to advance. The challenge in this game fo make it 4k was to compress the sprites, so I did my own compression system to minimaze the size. The difficulty is growing by:

  • Number of mummies.
  • Their speed.
  • Ther AI.

The mummies had different level of intelligence that makes their path finding more or less accurate.

To highlight:

  • AI.
  • Difficulty curve.
  • Self compressed.
